Perhaps the ‘is’ should be ‘can be’… I may edit that. BUT — if you consistently miss in basketball, as your coach, I have a clear expectation. I can cut you, bench you, or assign you a shooting coach/specialist. This would apply to the business world, too.

Essentially, I see your perspective. I have a valid one, too. Much of management and decision making hinges on predictability… good topic for a future article.

Valid point. As I said, consistency can be useful. That is a good thing.
I do agree that you have valid points. “Good” just isn’t the adjective I’d have chosen to describe consistency in all cases.
Like so many such discussions, it might be agreement with a side of semantics.
